BLOG TOUR STOP!! Scarecrow by Julie Hockley

Welcome to my Blog Tour stop for the AWESOME Scare Crow from Julie Hockley!!

Nineteen-year-old Emily Sheppard is losing her sanity.
Ever since her mob king boyfriend, Cameron Hillard, abandoned her for her own good, Emmy has been attempting to move on with her charmed college student life as if nothing happened. Now rejected from the underworld and left grieving over Cameron's alleged death.
Emmy realizes she belongs nowhere. Worse yet, she is now keeping a dangerous secret.
After just a short time with Emily, Cameron has lost control over his world. As he miserably attempts to return to what is left of his life and unravel the mess he has made of the underworld, Emily's hate turns to desperation. She needs to kill the kingpins responsible for Cameron's death before they come looking for her.
As Cameron secretly observes Emily, he has no idea of the danger he has placed her in or that it may already be too late for him to save her.
Scare Crow is a tale of revenge, terror, and love as Emmy and Cameron embark on separate journeys to face enemies, correct past mistakes, and find their way to their destinies.

Before I start I want to say thanks to Julie Hockley and Knock Your Books Off for providing me with an ARC, I positively squealed when I got it!

I was scared for this book, I was scared it wouldn't be as good as Crow's Row, it had a hell of a lot to live up to.

So where do I start, Emmy is back at her old house after Cameron is "killed" at the hands of Spider, she is needless to say distraught and her one saving grace is Meatball, Cameron's dog who comes to live with her.

Cameron meanwhile is trying to get Emmy unsuccessfully out of his mind and trying to rebuild his empire after the disastrous events in the Crow's Row.

Worried about Emmy he spies on her from a distance but gives in to Carly's demand that she finds someone to look after Emmy.

That someone is Griff who is harbouring a bit more than friendship for her but he tries his best to protect her all the same.

The main theme of this book for Emmy is revenge, she saw the love of her life "killed" before her eyes, the people she trusted are not who she thought they were and she wants blood.

Cameron is also out for blood and he also tries to get a grip back on his business, there is a lot more detail in this book about the drugs trade which gives us a nice background view of what he actually does, one of things he does is let the total bitch that is Manny get back in to his head, I was screaming at the book at this point!

We also meet Emmy's parents and room mates in more detail in this book which was nice as they were briefly mentioned in the last book.

This book is fantastic, it had a lot to live up to as I said and it manages it, without spoiling it for you Emmy has another major issue to deal with during this book, one that tests her physically and mentally and will be with her in to the next book.

I have no hesitation awarding this 5 out of 5, but please Julie do not make us wait ages for the next one!!!

A former germaphobe and clean-freak turned mother of two, Julie collects enough tears and snot in a month to recreate Slimer Monster from Ghostbusters. Other than playing devoted wife and mama, Julie is the funniest person in the room (according to the 3 year-old and 2 year-old in said room) and can build the most awesome Lego rocket ship you've ever set your eyes on (according to her). Oh, and she has a full time career and has also written a bestselling novel. Superhero, or just downright insane?
