The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
I'm gonna recap my week and give you an idea of what I have coming up plus anything else newsworthy!
So you may be reading this late on Saturday night, yes I may be a couple of hours early. The reason being is tomorrow I am going to be uber busy going to Stirling to look at new cars.
This year I started driving again after a hiatus of about 18 years, I am incredibly proud of the fact that I managed to pick it up again after running about in my husbands work van for a week (with the aid of two cushions to reach the pedals, I'm kinda short).
Also I became the proud owner of a little Ford Fiesta called Eep, the reason behind driving again was a change in job which requires me to drive 22 miles to my place of work, it is my dream job so wheels where needed.
However I live in Scotland, we are really good at doing snowy winters (weather is sunny just now I must add) and my car didn't always get to where it was supposed to go, bless it, it did try but it is basically a sewing machine on wheels.
So tomorrow we are looking at 4 x 4's, Chelsea Tractors, Jeeps whatever you choose to call them, I am going off road, I can't wait!

Me going to work!!!! |
In other news Game of Thrones, OMG that ending!! Nothing like I imagined! Though I already have some ideas about how it's gonna go because of course we have no idea as the next book is probably not out till the year 2030!
Golf is bleeding everywhere, the US open is on the telly and I am not happy but golf loving husband is.
Worst of all McDonalds have stopped doing Mozarella Dippers, what is the world coming too?
And the kids, well I don't have enough words to say how bad they have been this week, bless their monster socks.
Have a great week everyone!
Lots this week, I am trying to do more personal, rambling post so watch out! Some good tours and blast this week, the blitzes are going to be followed up with reviews in the coming weeks!
I have received physical and e-copies of some fab books this week, thank you to all the publishers for sending them! Let me know if you have read any of them!
Happy Sunday!
Heather, you're making me look bad! So early, I haven't even written my weekly wrap up yet *hides in shame*
ReplyDeleteI'm sort of scared of driving. I mean, I'm not technically old enough to get my license until October 1st when I turn 17 but...the idea of so much control and power terrifies me. 18 years? That's a long time! I hope that you enjoy your new wheels and your dream job!
*covers ears* I still have yet to watch the season finale of GoT, mostly because I logged into Twitter the day after it aired and everyone was tweeting and spoiling everything! In other news, I bumped up GoT on my TBR list so I'm going to finally read it next month!
I've tried watching golf but...football (soccer to Americans) is more my sport. Also, I've never had McDonalds so I don't feel your pain for the dippers but I'm sure that they must've been yummy.
Side note: I REALLY want to follow your blog via email (instead of just Bloglovin') so that I will be informed when you update but I'm not seeing that option anywhere! Please tell me there's a way or tweet me (@allbookishhere) because I always forget to check Bloglovin' and I love your blog so getting little cute reminders in my inbox would be nice!
That is all for my long comment, Heather. Hope you're not sick of reading this yet :) Have a lovely week!
Man I really need to catch up on GOT!
ReplyDeleteMissie @ A Flurry of Ponderings
Yep the end had it all, nudity and violence! It was good but very close to the bone again.
DeleteLike the look of some of your new books!!! (Not to mention the Colin Firth / Mr Darcy meme!!!)
ReplyDeleteNot so sure about the 4x4s... (SUVs, 4WDs). ;-)
Mr Darcy, no other Darcy has come close to Colin's!
DeleteGood luck with finding a new car! We are a golf household so we have and will have it on. But man the time difference is killer it ended so late last night. Looks like you got a lot of awesome books this week. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on Furiously Happy.
ReplyDeleteWe are a golf and football household, he would have been up late had he not fallen asleep!
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
Good luck with the monster socks !! I'm glad you have a dream job, we spend so many hours at work, we might as well enjoy it :) Enjoy Rebecca and the rest of your book haul, have a great week and be careful on the road !
ReplyDeleteI will, there are a lot of silly people on the one I drive on! Thanks so much for stopping by!
DeleteI have been looking at new cars too. MOstly Range Rover diesels which are new to the US (the diesel part). Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteThat is what we have ended up getting! Diesels are everywhere over here, I wish we had the US fuel prices over here too!
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
Love that copy of Rebecca! I need to read Rebecca soon! I have heard nothing but amazing things about du Maurier.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Thanks for stopping by the The Local Muse
It looks so beautiful the cover, it is great that they have been repackaged for a new generation.
DeleteI hope you found the perfect car today, Heather! It's good that you started driving again, and having the dream-job must have been the perfect motivation :)
ReplyDeleteYour new books all look really good, I hope you'll enjoy them all.
Have a fantastic week ahead and happy reading.
This and all my other reviews are originally posted on my blog (un)Conventional Bookviews
It was totally the motivation!
DeleteThey all look fabulous on the outside, hopefully the words inside are equally as good!
I do hope you get the car suitable for the winter weather when it comes. I don't get snow in NZ, not where I live at least, so I shop for cars by colour! Yellow is mine and when it conks out I'll get another. I am reading A Year of Marvellous Ways, literary but interesting. Normally I am not a very literary reader but it does me good now and then.
DeleteIt is totally suitable and it will be white!!
DeleteI'll look out for your review of Marvellous Ways, I'm the same a change does me the world of good!
That Games of Thornes ending had me in tears. I've had a rough couple of weeks at work and then that ending! GAH! I couldn't stop crying. It was awful.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.

It was pretty grim, I hope it is not the end for that character (I better not mention who just in case!!)
DeleteHave a great week too!
Oh that's impressive you picked up driving again after 18 years. Was it hard to pick it up again? I can't drive and not sure if I ever want to learn. lol at that picture of you going to work in that truck! I can imagine that getting your dream job is good motivation to pick up driving again.
ReplyDeleteI visited Scotland once in summer, but I on the map we had had I saw notifications of roads that wouldn't be open in winter, which made me think it would be hard to drive there when it it's winter.
Nice haul you got this week! I really enjoyed The Selection, but haven't yet gotten my hands on a copy of The Elite and The One.
I hope you have a great week and enjoy your new books!
It took a week of going out with my husband but then I just went out by myself and it was the best way to learn, now I love it but still lots to learn!
DeleteThere is a few roads that close, I drive part of the way to work on one of them!
The Selection is ok but I'm hoping it kicks it up a notch with the next books!
Have a great week!
Good luck finding the right car for you. Enjoy your new books...I loved Rebecca years ago, and have a copy I bought a couple years ago so I could reread it.
