The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
I'm gonna recap my week and give you an idea of what I have coming up plus anything else newsworthy!

Hey everyone, hope you are all well and enjoying fall/autumn or spring/summer depending on where you are in the world!
Autumn is full on here in Scotland, the leaves are beautiful, the fecking fog is still on the go and the temperature has started to go in to the minuses! But hey it is an excuse to dig out my thicker jumpers and hats!
I have been slacking (again) in the blogging department but in my defence I am knackered at the moment (I blame the weather) so when I have been on the web I have been trying to reply to you lovely commenters and visiting my fave blogs plus scheduling for Sci Fi month and trying and failing to get stuff done for Blog Ahead!
I have also noticed that I must have some sort of dodgy spambot thing from Russia making it look like I have had a mega week views wise, is there a way to deal with this. My security I would like to think is good but I worry these shits will damage my site.
I have been reading a lot too and trying to get my new kindle organised a bit better than my last one. But some other things have kept me from blogging, they are....
The Walking Dead - It is back, it was awesome - did you watch, did you enjoy?
The Returned - It is in French but I love it, the music, the scenery, the plot - did you watch this, did you enjoy?
You, Me and the Apocalypse - This is great, worth watching for Rob Lowe's chain smoking, alcoholic priest! - again, anyone watching?
Whatever you are reading, watching, doing.... have a great week!

I have received physical and e-copies of some fab books this week, thank you to all the publishers for sending them! Also, some of them are my own purchases, the pics link to Goodreads for you to find out more!
BOUGHT FROM AMAZON
KINDLE FREEBIES (MAY NOT BE ANYMORE!)
SENT BY PUBLISHER
Let me know if you have read any of them!
Happy Sunday!
I watched (the French version of) The Returned but didn't love the ending. I thought it was the series ending, so guess it's good it's back.
ReplyDeleteI can relate to the feeling knackered thing but in my case I really have no cause. I'm not terribly busy or anything. I've had a couple of colds / flus but that's about it. Just a case of the blahs making me feel apathetic perhaps.
Sounds like you're keeping your head above water though Heather, so well done on that front!
Thanks Deborah! Think it is just the time of year, cold and dark just make me feel meh!
DeleteThe Returned definitely picks up from the last series, I love it despite the fact I don't speak French!
Yay for fall! I'm looking forward to seeing what you have for SciFi month. Should be fun. The Returned and You, Me and the Apocalypse both look good- I'm going to check this out.
ReplyDeleteI've seen the Nightvale book around and I'm curious- have you listened to the podcast? I listened to the first one and may do more- I'm curious. :)
Thank for the shoutout!!
I did my intro post with my books last night, have saved some good ones (well what I think are good!!)!
DeleteCheck out the Returned, I think they did make a US remake of this too, but the French one is so atmospheric.
I didn't actually realise there was a podcast for Night Vale till I saw the book, will see what I think of the book and maybe will investigate it!
Sandwich with words, lol ! I'm currently watching the previous season of The Walking dead, I'm late ! I'm French, but I haven't watched Les revenants yet, I'm planning to. Never heard of the apocalypse but I'd really like to see that ! Enjoy your book haul ;)
ReplyDeleteLes Revenants is brilliant, I don't know where they film it but it just looks amazing!
DeleteOhh Hidden Doors, Secret Rooms looks good, I just checked though and it's not free anymore but I'll keep an eye out for it now!
ReplyDeleteI have Christmas at Lilac Cottage too to read during HoHoHo and I think it looks so cute. Can't wait to get stuck into my Christmassy books!
Boo to it not being free!
DeleteHolly Martin is such a good writer so I am looking forward to reading the two books!
I enjoyed Allison Hewitt is trapped-there were a lot of things in the book I didn't expect and I like that. And of course zombies! I can't seem to get enough of them at the moment. I'm guessing you're enjoying Surviving the Evacuation if you're up at book 6 and 7-I didn't like the MC in book one. His moaning made me realise why people would want to leave him behind! Anyway, enjoy all your books!
ReplyDeleteIt is a great book which I hope to finish in the next couple of days. The character in the first STE book does get better in book 2 and the characters change about a little too. It is a cracking series plus zombies!!
DeleteOoh, Shopaholic to the Rescue! That should be fun! Of course I ended up not reading her last one. I used to love her books and buy them automatically but now I wait to get them from the library. Hopefully this one will be just as good as the older ones. The Twelve Dates of Christmas looks like a cute holiday romance.
ReplyDeleteI am not so excited about fall as I consider it a harbinger of winter. I have resisted getting my sweaters out of storage but I'm sure I can't put it off for much longer! The one good thing about fall is the excuse it gives me to enjoy a mug of hot cider :)
Hope you get some answers for your blog issues. I never trust the view numbers because they don't seem to be reliable.
I don't trust them either but at the end of the day it is not the end of the world.
DeleteI read in the paper we are getting a really bad winter so I am going to enjoy these autumn days before I am stuck inside by the snow!!
Twelve Dates is fab as are Lisa's other books, smart and funy!
The Returned was fantastic I loved it I found this episode really creepy with the whole baby thing. I love Simon I want more of him. And that bloody deer was creepy. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteMegan @ http://readingawaythedays.blogspot.co.uk
It was so creepy especially when the vehicles where going along the road and it just was nothing but trees. The whole thing is just wonderful (and very creepy)!!
DeleteAh -- but if you schedule for Sci-Fi Month, that's a post that could also count for Blog-Ahead. I'm so glad that I saw your mention of Sci-Fi Month. I'm signing up and planning on getting a couple of the posts written in advance during this Blog-Ahead period.
ReplyDeleteThat is very true!! Glad you are signing up too, I am looking forward to it!
DeleteI hope you get the spam issues sorted....I hate the idea of them out there plotting things....
ReplyDeleteOtherwise, sounds like a good week...I want to see the new Fargo show. I also like anything with Rob Lowe...he is more fun now than back in the 80s, as part of the "brat pack."
Thanks for visiting my blog...enjoy your week!
I hate that idea too, it is probably a computer somewhere just pinging out code! Rob Lowe is miles better than he was back then, I had forgotten about the Brat Pack, he looks better now too!
DeleteIt's gotten cold here this week as well! I don't like being cold, but I do enjoy the autmumn colours and having a chance to wear my winter clothes again. I only got 2 posts doen for Blog Ahead this week and both on the same day, I hope next week will be more productive, but as long as I am making some progress I am happy. Have fun with sci-fi month! I participated last year and had a lot of fun with it, but think I'll skip this year.
ReplyDeleteI can't give you any advice for spam on blogger. I only know how to do things on wordpress. I have some plugins which work great against spam, although I think there's no way you can get rid of the hack attempts completely. I hope you have a great week and enjoy your new books!
I love autumn colours which is good as they are everywhere!
DeleteI think Blog Ahead is great but I think I am a little hopeless at scheduling!
So many good books in your book haul. With blogger they protect your site, I don't think they enable you to blog anyone. Just be sure you back up your blog regularly, your theme too. I hope you get a few posts done for Blog Ahead and Sci-Fi
ReplyDeleteYep I back up all the time now just in case but I just hate the idea of someone or thing spamming me, me and a million others!!
DeleteI'm sorry you've been so tired. And I hope those "minus" temperatures are Celsius, not Fahrenheit! But I do enjoy the cooler weather and the excuse to haul out my knitwear - and knit some more. I haven't watched any of your series - I didn't even know about the Rob Lowe one, but I can picture him in a role like that. Your new books look good; the Holly Martin covers are adorable! Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteYep celsius!!! I have been pulling out all my woolies but so far have just ended being cosy in the morning and roasting in the afternoon!
DeleteRebel Belle looks like a lot of fun! I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it. Fall has hit in my neck of the woods too. Parts of my state have already gotten snow! Ugh!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by the The Local Muse
Snow, oh no! According to the papers it is coming to us soon!
DeleteA great book haul there! I've heard good things about Rebel Belle.
ReplyDeleteIt has the prettiest cover!!
DeleteBoo to spambots! Hope you can get rid of them. TV has kept me from reading as much. I just got back from vacation and am trying to catch up on so much!! Love all the Christmas books!!! Hav a great week!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a fab vacation, catching up is fun but takes so much time!
DeleteWelcome To Nightvale is a book now?! How did I not know this?! :o That's definitely going on the wishlist :D
ReplyDeletehttp://natalieslife.com/2015/10/stacking-the-shelves-181
I didn't know it was a podcast!!
Deletei feel like autumn is gonna skip us and we gonna go straight into winter, we already had some snow yesterday and frost. Oh sorry about the spam :( how irritating.
ReplyDeletehorray for all the christmas books!
Christmas is nearly here!!! Yay!!
DeleteMust be the week for it, I'm totally knackered too. Loved visiting Scotland but I think I'd have to go into hibernation for autumn and winter if I lived there lol. Yummy book choices and great viewing. This week I've caught up on Season 6 of Downton Abbey, Scandal, The Blacklist. Oops, I'll have to give up sleep if I'm actually going to get book reviews done HA
ReplyDeleteYep I wish I could hibernate, it is so dark just now, hate driving in it! I just wish I had an extra 12 hours in the day to do everything I want!!
DeleteI don't watch the other two, but I love TWD! It's been absolutely amazing this season. I can't wait to see what happens. I'm behind on the comics, so everything will be a surprise. Rick is crazy, but I love him, and Carol is a badass.
ReplyDeleteI have only read the first comic, I'd love to read them one day but for now the tv show will suffice! Carol is just immense!
DeleteWhen it starts getting dark really early, I just want to sleep too. Or stay in my bathtub with a big glass of wine and a good book. Nothing else...
ReplyDeleteYour new books look really good, and I hope you'll enjoy them all, Heather!
Lexxie @ (un)Conventional Bookviews
Thanks Lexxie!
Deletelol Heather, I love your Beauty and the Beast quote/pic :P It's awesome. I LOVE Belle, she's like the ultimate bookish cartoon :P She's beautiful and so smart! And brave... *quits rambling*
ReplyDelete*takes a deep breath* I don't hate you... *wishes she could find an italics button* for the whole Shopaholic thing... but you're definitely going to have to tell me how it goes! Then you'll be my BFF ;) he he.
Have a great week!
Amy x
I'm sorry, I will be sure to give you a detailed review when I read, I'm sorry!!
DeleteBelle is the best and I was lucky enough to meet her in Orlando and she was just lovely! xx
I really want to read Rebel Belle. I've heard great things about it :) The Twelve Dates of Christmas looks like such a cute read!
ReplyDeleteTwelve Dates is brilliant, Lisa Dickenson is a great author!
DeleteRebel Belle is a book I have been meaning to read for a while so I am looking forward to getting to that one. Oh, and I also really do like the sound of anything Sophie Kinsella because those books are always hilarious and well written :)
ReplyDeleteRebel Belle looks so pretty, I just couldn't resist it!
DeleteI have been in a blogging funk, too. I didn't even manage a Sunday Post last week. Still loving your Bizarre Books feature. I downloaded Adventures in Funeral Crashing ages ago (for free) and haven't read it yet. Thanks for reminding me. Hope you had a great week!
ReplyDeleteSometimes you just need a break! Thanks for following Bizarre Books, it is fun looking for them!
