The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
I'm gonna recap my week and give you an idea of what I have coming up plus anything else newsworthy!
Hey I hope you are all have a good week, have you all headaches from all those Halloween sweets?
In the UK we have had bonfire night on the 5th and last night a day late our street had a big bonfire. It was extremely mesmerising and very warm plus there was mulled wine!
Also Christmas adverts have started on the tv, the big one here in Britain is the John Lewis (for non UK bloggers, it is a big department store), my fellow UK bloggers, did you cry or did you realise Christmas is not far away!
I have been having fun catching up on my sci-fi reads as part of Sci Fi month and planning my posts, which have involved looking at Captain Malcolm Reynolds from Firefly a lot.
Also as November is my birthday month I have decided to have a giveaway and I would love for you to enter - the winner will be announced on my birthday on the 29th!

Have a good week everyone and happy reading!

DeleteI like your funny picture! hah
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Month!!! I'm excited for upcoming holidays. I love Christmas time. I'm obsessed with buying gifts for people - seriously. I just love trying to find unique items they wouldn't otherwise know about or buy. It's fun!

I love buying for Christmas! It is totally my favourite time of the year!
DeleteYour Bizzare Book last week was a snort laugh and a half! I loved the Sci-Fi month post. I will have to make sure I hit all of them. Have a wonderful birthday month. We have birthday week at my house, but I think all moms should have a birthday month. I am going to suggest it to my son next year. :)
ReplyDeleteTotally agree, the birthday month is the way to go!!!
DeleteI love bonfires in the fall, especially on a cool night. And mulled wine... yum. Nice way to warm up when doing a holiday walk or whatever...
ReplyDeleteThe Christmas deluge will start now that we're in November. I don't mind too much, but then again it is a BIT early... :)
Inside Out looks great, I kinda want to see that.
It was my first mulled wine experience but it was nice, like Christmas in a mug!
DeleteThe Christmas adverts are everywhere, the catalogues are coming through the post, there is no escape!!!
In the Netherlands we still have a children's holiday at the start of December so seeing Christmas things just feels so weird, haha. Christmas really starts here after that holiday so I haven't really seen a lot of Christmas adds here.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
That sounds so much better than the UK, everywhere I go is Christmas mocking me!!!
DeleteI watch the TV show Castle and it's so weird seeing NF in that and then watching episodes of Firefly when he was so much younger. And then of course there's his role in Buffy....
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen him in Buffy, I love him in Castle but to me he will always be Captain Tightpants!!
DeleteHappy birthday and thank you for the giveaway! If I won, I think I'd buy the new Twilight book! I know it's not getting great reviews but I'd like to judge it for myself and the bit that I sneakily read in the bookshop, I liked!
ReplyDeleteI saw that John Lewis advert yesterday *sniffles*
It hasn't got very good reviews at all, I just wish she would come up with something new!!
DeleteLOL your funny quote at the end is so true! But how in the world did Washington know abut Facebook way back then? *grins and laughs*
ReplyDeleteYour bonfires sound great, Heather! And what a nice way to connect with neighbors, over mulled wine, in the dark and with a sparkling fire.
Thanks for hosting a giveaway for your birthday! If I win, I have no idea what books I'd get, because it would depend of what books I buy between now and then :D
Have a fantastic week ahead and happy reading.

It was very jolly the bonfire, it was really mesmerising too!
DeleteThere are so many tempting books out there, I wouldn't have a clue where to start if I won a giftcard !!
In our area, all we had on Bonfire night were idiots setting off fireworks all darn night and keeping me awake, along with the neighbour's dog howling in misery, the poor boy! It's a tradition that I hate! Hope you enjoy the books and stop tempting me with giveaways! Arrgghh! OK I snapped and entered!
ReplyDeleteSorry, I aim to tempt everyone!!! I can't help it!!!
DeleteWe hardly had any fireworks for a change, usually there are idiots setting them off for days after!
Happy birthday! October and November are big birthday months in my family...my sister and eldest son have November.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy...and I am actually already sick of all the Christmas shows...LOL.
I am curious about The Revolution of Ivy.
Here are
MY WEEKLY UPDATES
Christmas is everywhere and unavoidable!! The Ivy books are really good!
DeleteThat bonfire sounds fun! Sounds like a fun way to spend the evening. And christmas sure feels close suddenly! I don't watch any tv, so I haven't seen any christmas advert, but I did see some christmas products pop up in stores and realized how close it is suddenly.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're having fun with sci-fi month! I just started a sci-fi read coincidently, a companion novel to SJ Pajoans her nogiku series that tell the story from Jiro and Mark their point of view, it's awesome so far!
Inside Out looks fun! I had to laugh about that quote, lol. I hope you'll have a great week!
I really need to get in to SJ's books, they do look like such great reads!!
DeleteSci-Fi month is such fun, it is nice to see so many blogger taking part and there is some great posts out there!!
Happy Birthday! I would put a dent in my epically long wishlist!
ReplyDeleteI hear you, mine is huge too!!
DeleteSince I drown in books, I will probably buy one for my husband. Or, I would possibly buy a Claus Porto soap.
ReplyDeleteTreat yourself!!!! I am always after something, thankfully my other half is not a material guy!!
DeleteLove the John Lewis commercial. I cannot believe how close we are getting. Nice Haul. I need to read the first Ivy book, and yep I own it...LOL Love the quote Heather! Have a wonderful week
ReplyDeleteJohn Lewis always do a good advert, it cost millions apparently!! The Ivy books are great, but I am the same have lots of books I want to read but, well you know, not enough hours!!
DeleteThat commercial was so touching! I love the holidays. I am a bit stressed that for the second year in a row we are moving in December, but with it comes excitement that things are going to get better.
ReplyDeleteI would totally buy MORE books. I am so predictable. Have a great week!
It brought a tear to my eye!!
DeleteI love Christmas too, but moving sounds really stressful but it will be fun I am sure!
Love the funny! Oh so true. I'm always seeing stuff by Marilyn Monroe that there's no way she actually said. I'm not quite ready to think Christmas yet though I'm enjoying the Christmas stories. Looking forward to seeing what you read for SciFi month! I don't read much in that genre so I like seeing the recommendations. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI am so looking forward to Christmas but the run up seems to start earlier and earlier each year!!
DeleteI love the ad.
ReplyDeleteIt is brilliant! Love it!
DeleteAww that John Lewis commercial was so sweet, made me all teary. Bonfires and mulled wine, now that sounds great, we make mulled wine on the campfire when we camp in winter. I was Dead for 13 Minutes ... cool title, I'm curious. Happy birthday month and and thank you for the giveaway YAY lol
ReplyDeleteJohn Lewis do the best ad's!! I'd never had the wine before, it was yummy, very seasonal!!
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
Ooh, mulled wine. Mmm! I haven't read any of your books, but the 13 Minutes one definitely caught my eye. Interesting cover. I hope you enjoy your birthday month!
ReplyDeleteYep that is what got me, that cover!
