The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
I'm gonna recap my week and give you an idea of what I have coming up plus anything else newsworthy!

The Sunday Post
Bizarre Books on Parenthood
Review of Burning Midnight which will make you think of marbles in a different light
For kids big and small - The Harry Potter colouring book
Order up - Bob's Burgers graphic novel review

I love this and I can't wait to share my review with you guys!

This week was a wash out.....literally.
Scotland was hit by the shittiest weather imaginable and the flooding was horrendous, this of course made travelling to work fun. It got to the point I was beginning to think someone was dropping hints for an ark to be built. I hope everyone who was affected managed to stay safe.
Anyway on the blog side I am getting lots read, I have polished off lots of books this week and have lots of reviews planned plus they go towards my #COYER count too.
On the review front I have decided that it is not imperative to always post my reviews on the blog especially if I want to do a short review. So in this case all my shorter reviews will be straight to Goodreads but I have started doing some mini reviews on the blog for books I love but don't warrant long reviews plus I also realise I don't need to write a War and Peace length review to get my point across.
Have a good week everyone!

I have received physical and e-copies of some fab books this week, thank you to all the publishers for sending them! Also, some of them are my own purchases, the pics link to Goodreads for you to find
out more!
BOUGHT FROM AMAZON
nothing!
KINDLE FREEBIES (MAY NOT BE ANYMORE!)
Let me know if you have read any of them!
Happy Sunday!
I read Hedon last year because I also got it for free and decided I should expand my horizons and try different genres. I will say it's not a bad book, but it was definitely not for me.
ReplyDeleteI've started doing mini reviews that I've only posted on GR, generally on books that were decent but I don't feel strongly enough about to create a whole post for. I was thinking maybe I'll collect them all into one post every so often.
I haven't read Hedon yet but yep it was free so worth a shot!
DeleteI just sometimes found myself spending ages on a review when I could have spent less time and got more done so more mini reviews!
Oh, I really liked Wolf by Wolf. I hope you do too! I'm actually putting what I read on Goodreads this year for the challenge so I try and write mini thoughts on there - we'll see how it goes through the year. I plan on reviewing most of these though!

I love doing the Goodreads challenge though I fell short last year by a couple of books!
DeleteWolf by Wolf sounds like it will be a great read, hope to get to it soon!
It was a shitty week here too although the worst is yet to come- we're getting snow overnight. Quite a bit apparently. there go the roads! Glad the reading is going good- I actually read a book this week and wrote a review! Hallefrickinlujah! About time... I've been slacking.
ReplyDeleteThe great thing about book blogging is there are so many ways to do reviews... whatever works. Have a super week!
Into the Dim looks awesome! And so does Night Parade.
Nothing wrong with a bit of slacking, does us all the world of good!
DeleteThe Night Parade is well worth a read, it has such brilliant imagery and a fab story!
I hope the flooding will stop, Heather! We've had so much rain lately, too, and the rivers that may flood in the late spring are almost there now. I really wonder what's up with the crazy weather!
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll enjoy your new books, have a great week ahead and happy reading.
Lexxie @ (un)Conventional Bookviews
Thanks Lexxie! The weather is just crazy, roll on Summer!!!
DeleteI'm just about to go to Amazon on my latest zombie hunt for any freebies I can find! Enjoy your books!
ReplyDeleteAmazon is such a massive tease, all these awesome freebies that suck you in to buying a series!!
DeleteWe had our flooding the week of Christmas and it wasn't fun. Hope you managed to stay dry! I'm with you on the short reviews. There are some books where I just don't have much to say. If it's a review book I might store up a few books like that and do a post of small reviews but that doesn't happen very often. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteIt gets to the stage where you need to build an ark!!
DeleteWith the reviews I just said to myself that I don't have to say paragraphs about a book if I don't want too!
Love the funny..and so true. I hope an ARK won't be necessary. I do mini reviews called Coffee Pot reviews. And just do a few on the same post. You are right a full-length review for a classic isn't necessary..just your thoughts and if it felt relevant in 2016. Happy reading!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kimba and thanks for stopping by!
DeleteI enjoyed your Bizarre Books on Parenthood post. :-) I loved The Night Parade too. I hope your weather improves! The rain here has been a most welcome sight because of the drought conditions. The flooding and mudslides, not so much. I don't envy you your drive to work in flooded conditions. That is never fun.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great week!
Thank you, I have great fun finding my bizarre books!! The weather is just awful but it is winter so I shouldn't complain!!
DeleteAm guessing the no books bought on Amazon thing is a good thing Heather? I hope so...
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the weather though it's been nice here in Oz to get some rain of late.
I actually just finished a book by a Scottish author I'd not heard of (or read anyway) before - Peter May? Not sure if he's popular there or not?!
Yes Peter May is quite popular, I haven't read any of his books yet but they get a good write up.
DeleteNo books bought is good for the old bank balance which is always pained at this time of year!!
I haven't read any of those yet- 3 of them on my TBR. Also, I am doing the Read Scotland Challenge-LOl and am hoping your crappy weather stops!!

I was admiring some of the kilted covers on your blog! Enjoy reading Scotland!
DeleteWhat a great book haul this week. Have a wonderful week of reading!
ReplyDeleteThank you!!
DeleteHope the weather gets better!! Enjoy all your new books - they look great!! LOVE the funny this week!
ReplyDeleteThanks Grace!
DeleteI hope the weather is better now, here we had some strange weather too, but not where I live. I am looking forward to read your review of the Night Parade, I really enjoyed that one too. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteIt was an excellent read, I really want to go to Japan!!
DeleteAaahhh the weather here too! Then it got COLD and all that collected rain froze. Oys! Hope yall get dried out this week!
ReplyDeleteI am over the moon that you loved The Night Parade! I cannot wait the see the new Independence Day movie. I was a bit disappointed that there will be no Will Smith, but at least the website explained what happened to his character. I am getting here late, and hump day is almost over, so I will wish you a great weekend to come. Ha ha. I kind of spam commented tonight too. :)
