The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely Kimba at the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
I am going to recap my week, ramble about books and give you an idea of what I have coming up plus anything else newsworthy!

I am happy, I have the long Easter weekend off and access to a shit load of chocolate, life is literally sweet!
In the week I have had the pleasure of my car going to get stuff fixed on it (recall - I didn't break it) and they gave me a LandRover Discovery the size of large house to drive, once I got over the shock of the size (I am just over five foot), I loved it, what a machine and you know what I felt incredibly posh looking down on everyone!
It was my eldest daughters birthday on Thursday, she got her telescope as she is obsessed with space and a star named after her in the Ursa Major constellation which we can see from our front door most nights.
Yesterday we lazed about and watched the Good Dinosaur which was really cute and today we saw Zootropolis which was epic, I recommend you watch this.
In blog news well I have failed to press the live button on my Golden Son review because I got sidetracked by reading Morning Star and then I read the first chapter of Joe Hill's The Fireman thinking I would stop after the first chapter - I didn't and it is crazy awesome BTW, spontaneous combustion plague on the rampage. Anway Golden Son review, this week (I hope!!!).
I have nearly caught up on my comments and started to jot down notes for future posts, so I am definitely feeling in the zone.
My obsession with Instagram is lessening off a little, I still love it but some of the #bookstagrammers seem a little....well I can't put my finger on it but they seem to have unlimited props and all manner of crap and I ain't going that fancy plus I have made the rookie mistake of following lot of accounts so I never see the ones I really love so I am having a bit of a cut back, ah the lessons we learn in over exuberance.
The biggest shock of the week is I didn't buy any books this week but I did buy a bobble head Funko Pop Stormtrooper!
Have a good week everybody!

Review of this bloodydamn bad boy, I PROMISE!!

OF COURSE EASTER BUT THAT LIE IN ON MONDAY SOUNDS GOOD!
I have received physical and e-copies of some fab books this week, thank you to all the publishers for sending them! Also, some of them are my own purchases, the pics link to Goodreads for you to find out more!
NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!
NOTHING!!!!
NOTHING!!!!
Let me know if you have read any of them!
Happy Sunday!
Landrover Discovery- nice! I think you can live in those things. :) I always kinda laugh when I see some booktubers or Youtube people and they've got like the whole studio thing going- I've seen cable shows that are less equipped ha ha!
ReplyDeleteSpontaneous combustion rampage- that sounds fun. Yes sometimes the reading gets sidetracked, just gotta go with it lol. Enjoy your long weekend!
It was freaking massive, the boot was huge as I'm only five foot one I felt kinda ridiculous in it as well as a bit of a badass!
DeleteRead The Fireman it is awesome!
Happy Easter - you get Monday off? How exciting! I hope you enjoy it. I'm glad you are enjoying Joe Hill's latest. I can't wait to read it!

It is brilliant Lauren, such a great read!
DeleteHappy Birthday to your daughter! I love it when books are so good they take over. Happy Easter! Have a great week and happy reading!
ReplyDeleteLaura @ http://a-reader-lives-a-thousand-lives.blogspot.co.uk
Thanks Laura!
DeleteI have The Dead and the Dying on the tbr waiting for me, and I'm trying to find Amy Cross Mass Extinction Event series free somewhere-no luck yet! You can never have too many monster books...! Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteExactly, monster books are great!!
DeleteAccess to a shit load of chocolate??? LOL yeaaah life is GOOD
ReplyDeleteI also got a new car that is OMG also BIGGER THAN LIFE. My hubby convinced me because now I'm always driving around with a bunch of little critters (AKA kids :) ) but I'm not sure I like it LOL
How cool that your daughter is obsessed with space though??? I like anything space related :)
COME ON!!! post that review of the Golden Son!!! LOL my review of Red Rising is coming up soon! :) ISN'T THIS SERIES OUT OF THIS FRICKING WORLD???? :)
I don't know how I feel about instagram yet. It is like an alternate reality for me at this point :)
I am gradually coming round to the big car idea as long as it is fitted with sensors and cameras galore, our roads in Scotland are not exactly wide so I need all the help I can get!!!
DeleteWow! Impressive on the restraint with the new books! That's awesome that your daughter is obsessed with space! My husband is an aerospace engineer and I worked on the Space Station for a long time (only as an analyst not an engineer) so it's a big part of our lives. I can sympathize with the big vehicle. I have a mammoth SUV from the days when we had a lot of kids but now that we're down to just one as the others have moved out I'm itching to get something smaller. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThat is just amazing, they are incredible jobs, like wow!!! I work in the middle of nowhere so a 4x4 is a good idea but this was just massive!
DeleteI kinda feel the same way about Instagram. I don't have like an hour to set up props and whip out my $400 camera for social media. I don't spend more than 10 minutes on a photo for there. Yea, my quality isn't on par with some people, but I got tons of other tings to do with my life. Don't feel bad, you.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to reading your review for Golden Son, so get to it!
I just use my phone, getting a camera out and mucking around is too much hassle for me. I just like picking a book getting some random stuff and hey presto!!
DeleteHappy Easter! And sounds like you had a full week with your car getting fixed and your daughter her birthday. I really want to watch Zootropolis, it sounds like a fun movie!
ReplyDeleteI hope your good blogging mood will stay around for a while. It's nice to feel in the zone like that!
And that's nice on the not buying any new books this week! Have a great week!
Thanks Lola!
DeleteMmmmm...shitloads of chocolate...*drools* :D I want to see Zootropolis, but the kids haven't expressed any interest. I may have to wait until it hits Redbox, Amazon or Netflix.
ReplyDeleteZootropolis is great, well worth a watch!
DeleteThat's so cool your daughter has a star named after her :D I'm hoping to go see Zootopia soon, so it's good to hear it's worth seeing - I didn't realise it was called Zootropolis outside of the US!
ReplyDeleteAlso I laughed so much about the instagram "issues" - I find the same thing lol! I see lots of props in other people's pictures, in mine I tend to just plonk the books on the carpet, or bedsheet lol! Oh well. Hehe.
http://natalieslife.com/2016/03/moving-across-america
Yep, I can't be bothered finding fancy stuff! Some of these bookmarks I see and think I want that to go and find they would cost a fortune to ship!
DeleteEnjoy your books! It is very challenging to restrain oneself...good for you! Thanks for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteThank you!!
DeleteWow! So cool to have your own star. I also had to take my car in to get work (routine). I hope you had a great Easter!
ReplyDeleteThanks Charlie!
DeleteNo new books bought by me this week either! *high fives* I will definitely be back for the Golden Son review. Let the chocolate eating begin! Have a wonderful week. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks my dear!
DeleteThat's a freaking amazing gift! Can I have one lol
ReplyDeleteI really want to start reading Red Rising. I have it as ebook but I want the physical copy so I'm holding off on reading it until I buy the copy.
Happy birthday to your daughter!!
Thanks, I think I would do the same too if I had the e-copies, I love this series!
DeleteI can't imagine having to drive a monster car like that. :O I'm a bit shorter than you and I would be so scared to drive it, haha.
ReplyDeleteInstagram can swallow you up whole. So I know what you mean. Since the pregnancy I don't post quite as often as before. I can't quite be bothered to place everything nicely and try and take 50 pics to get the perfect shot. XD
I can't be bothered to take that many pics either but a lot of people do!!
DeleteIt was easier to drive than I thought, I think because it is so high up you are looking over it, it was great fun!
You do seem extra bubbly and spirited in this post, like you're having a good week or maybe just on a sugar high from all the chocolate ;-)
ReplyDeleteI get what you're saying about instagram though. I just don't have all those props or perfect lighting or the motivation or time or energy to put into taking photos of books that I'm not even going to get paid for. Not that I ever get paid for photos, but you get what I'm saying lol. Some of them are still nice to look at though!
Sugar high I think!!
DeleteThey are lovely to look at, how they have time to do it all!!
My daughter loved Zootopia! It s all she talks about and we have the stuffed animals and all the tsums tsums from the movie too. My son wants to watch the Good Dinosaur so we will have to get that soon. Have a great week!!
ReplyDeleteThe Good Dinosaur is lovely, such a sweet film!
DeleteCongratulations with your eldest daughter’s birthday. A telescope?? Wow.. she is one lucky girl. I’ve always wanted to have one. When we have a new home I’m definitely getting one!
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a great Easter.. with all that chocolate is must be good! LOL!!
Happy Reading ;)
Thanks Maureen!
DeleteAnother redhead here! My experience with Instagram is definitely similar to yours! I don't have the props, I don't have the time...
ReplyDeleteGood job on not buying books! It sounds like it's a rare occurrence for you as well :)
I hope you had a lovely lay in today!
Thanks Annika!
DeleteI was on the #bookstagram obsessions for a few weeks too, it is hard to not look at all the amazing photos! Yay on not buying any books this week I think that takes a lot of power not to purchase any! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteIt takes a lot of willpower not to buy! I frequently fail!!
DeleteI'm jealous of your time off! Though, I guess I really shouldn't be because I'm only working three days this week. Haha. I'm with you on the Instagram posts. At first, I found myself fascinated with the bookstagrammer posts, but sometime in the last few weeks I've realized I'm starting to find a lot of them eye-rolling. It's like "Oh, look at that... a red pencil because the book cover is red. Isn't that clever?" *eye roll* Too snarky? *shrug* I wish I had that kind of time to waste on Instagram photos. I don't. I'm lucky if I can get through my real life stuff and find time to read and blog afterwards. But oh well. To each their own, I suppose. There are some lovely photos out there... and then there are some I find ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteI got a little long-winded there. Haha. Hope you have a great week!
A three day week sounds amazing!!! Now I am jealous!
DeleteI think you have hit the Instagram nail on the head, I am just posting my crappy pictures because I like them and they take seconds to put together!
Sounds like a good week! That's awesome that your daughter is so interested in astronomy. Robin was too, for a long time; she still likes it but didn't want to pursue it academically.
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean about bookstagram even though I'm not on it -- I see a lot of the same sort of thing on booklr (Tumblr) and it's frustrating. It's not just the props -- where do people get the time?! I can't find enough time to keep up with all the books I want to read, let alone review, let alone all the blogs I love to follow! Someone needs to invent a time-turner.
I know, I barely have enough time to brush my hair some days, its crazy!! I'm the same, I'm behind on everything!
DeleteSounds like you had a great week! Zootopia is one my daughter really wants to see, so hopefully we get to it in the next few weeks. Have a great week. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Laura!
DeleteI could use a long weekend, but I'll settle for the chocolate. :-) Happy Birthday to your daughter! What a great gift! I've always wanted a telescope. Instead I got a microscope. You make me want to drop everything and start on The Fireman. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteAw The Fireman is just brilliant, an awesome read!
DeleteGlad to hear you had a lovely Easter. I know exactly what you mean about the props in folks Instagram posts. It's bananas! I don't even try to compete. Sometimes I'm in a situation that I think will make a cute Instagram photo, and I take it, but who has time for all that? Not me! I can't wait to read your Golden Son review. I wonder if you felt the same as I did when I read it.
ReplyDeleteGolden Son was great, I am savouring Morning Star just now, don't want it to end!
DeleteI am glad to hear that you had such a good Easter weekend and managed to get so much done as well! And I never thought there was such a thing as too much chocolate until the end of this week. I literally don't even want to see it anymore ahaha :D
ReplyDeleteI'm still sick of chocolate now, well nearly sick of it!!
DeleteSounds like a pretty good week! I love instagram. It's one of my favorite things but I don't follow any accounts like that. I just do it for fun and take actual real life pics instead of staged ones like that :/
ReplyDeleteThanks Anna, Yep after reading all these comments I think I will start to just have more fun with Instagram rather than fret about having the perfect pic!
