A round up of books reviewed during this month
(also ⬆️ not my cat, it is a stock picture before anyone asks!! I’m naming her Gizmo)
For some reason I couldn’t get the Goodreads links to work this month so I have turned to Canva - brace yourself it may be bright below! Each image should take you to my review.
Have you read any of them? What did you think? What was your favourite book this month?

I think that is the last Giant Days I read. I might sneak one in before the end of the year when my classics challenge is over. I am having Giant Days withdrawl! 📚
ReplyDeleteI think I need that French book, ha ha, I am so rusty. 🗼
The Japan book looks wonderful, too. 👍✨
I need to catch up on my giant days reviews but other books got in the way!
DeleteThe Japan books great, I’m trying to read lots of Japanese fiction and non fiction, I’m fascinated and I seem to have the start of a France obsession too!
I thought Inconvenient Woman was good but not great. And Mina Lee sounds really interesting!
ReplyDeleteMina Lee was really good!
DeleteWait, you read 17 books?? Please tell me your secret! lol. I love your Canva graphics, I may borrow your idea at some point:-) Looks like you had an awesome month!
ReplyDeleteI don’t have one but being made redundant has helped! God help me reading when I eventually get a new job! I love Canva, I just quickly put it together because the goodreads link wasn’t playing ball, I like it so I think I’ll keep it like this!
DeleteWhat a great list! I have been wanting to read Memory Police recently, but I've been hearing some mixed things about it. Mostly, that the cover markets the story poorly. I will probably still give it a try, though. I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I need to look into Dancing With the Octopus.
ReplyDeleteSide note: Gizmo is adorable, and I'm very sad for you that he is not your fur baby!
I don’t know, I suppose the cover shows physical parts of the head disappearing like things disappear in the book.
DeleteI really would love a cat of my own, the dog says no!
Your Canva reviews look lovely. I like the Paul Noble audios, too. I wish I could be fluent in French after listening to them.
ReplyDeleteThanks Deb, I think I’ll keep the month end reviews like this going forward.
DeleteThe Paul Noble book is great, I’m pleased to have it as an extra resource in my learning.
Devolution was great! Yeah, Sasquatch isn't anything I'd want to run into!
ReplyDeleteThere's another author recreating Poirot? I have to say I'm a bit skeptical, but I'd give it a chance seeing as you enjoyed it.
I was a little sceptical about Poirot but it was good once it got going.
DeleteYep I always though Bigfoot was slightly tamer than the ones in Devolution, I was definitely wrong!
It looks like you were a happy reader this month!
ReplyDeleteI was, it’s been a while since I’ve had a bad book.
DeleteI haven't read any of them but I am seeing them pop up on a few blogs that I follow. Looking at your star ratings it looks like you had a good month overall for your chosen books! I MUST knuckle down and get reading. It's pathetic that I'm going into spooky book month with hardly any motivation!
ReplyDeleteIt’s normal to go through lack of enthusiasm for reading, it’ll come and spooky books can be enjoyed all year round!
DeleteLots of hits for you. Yeah! I have not read any of these, but I have been seeing Mina Lee everywhere.
ReplyDeleteYes I think she was picked for Reese Witherspoon’s book club so that will definitely have helped!
DeleteI see a lot of five star reads throughout the month... that's fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI’ve been lucky!
DeleteHi Stock Photo Gizmo!!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of these but Giant Days looks fun and eccentric?
Ha! I really want a cat!
DeleteGiant Days is great fun!
Woohoo that is some impressive reading. 17 books - *faints. I only wish I could read that much in a month.
ReplyDeleteLynn :D
I was made redundant unfortunately due to COVID but fortunately it has give me more time to read! In normal times I’ll generally read two to three books a week if I can.
DeleteWhat an awesome month of reading! There are several of these books now on my TBR list. And I loved Devolution. Such a fun book. :D
ReplyDeleteDevolution was great, it scared me, which I wasn’t expecting!
DeleteLove your round-up and added a few to my wishlist!
ReplyDeleteYay, hope you enjoy them when you get to them!
DeleteSo many of these look wonderful. I am definitely going to be on the look-out for The Haunted Shore especially.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah, The Haunted Shore was spooky!
DeleteOh, I do hope I enjoy Louise Penny's latest! It's on my nightstand and I plan to read it soon.
ReplyDeleteI sure do love your graphics! Was it difficult to learn how to create them with Canva?
Thank you! No they were quite straightforward, I placed the book cover within a frame and then it automatically gave me the main colours from the cover which I used for the background.
DeleteI love these covers! Great list!
