Hello, hope you are all safe and well.

My house this week should have a big cross on the door as my daughters have a bad cold and they have shared it with me.  They are happy as they are off school!  The ironic thing is my husband who has MS and is currently on medication which is a mild form of chemotherapy and has wiped out his immune system is fit and healthy!  Typical!

Needless to say I’ve not been out much but I did get these lovely photos of the River Tay with some cloud porn!

In other news new Blogger seems to be causing havoc left right and centre, I’ve kept legacy Blogger switched on just now but have been playing with the new version.  The one thing I didn’t like was that I couldn’t preview from within the post but from further investigation it turns out pop up blocker was stopping it - I switched it off and up came my preview.

Apologies as well I’m miles behind with my commenting and blog visiting, I like to keep on top of it but as usual something gets in the road!

Covid cases are on the rise here and our gatherings have been restricted again, it never ends.

Have a lovely week everyone and stay safe!

  1. I have not been enjoying the new Blogger! It doesn't feel intuitive and things that were so easy before just seem more difficult.

  2. The same thing is happening at our house! πŸ˜‚ Mother’s immunity is being killed with anti-rejects pills as she had gotten a kidney transplant.. my dad gets sick, then me.. and somehow mom skips it. Last time dad had pneumonia ithink? While for me it was a bronchititis.
It’s kinda funny.. although it’s a regular for us ; when I got the H1N1 (way before she got the transplant), she was the one to take care of me and all - and never got it.

    1. That’s so strange, maybe it is his pills, I dread to think exactly what’s in them but if they make him better and prevent him getting the cold then that’s great. I just assumed that with his immune system being non existent he’d get everything! It could be because he is a big strong Scotsman!

  3. I'm glad you told me about the pop up blocker stopping the preview as I was having the same issue. I'm still unhappy at the length of time it takes to get three book cover images in a row and the difficulty resizing them-I want my small and medium image sizes back!

    1. It was doing my head in so I took to the internet as I couldn’t be doing with having to come out of the post to preview every time. I’ve not had too much trouble with the images yet but I shall kick it in its html if I get any problems!

  4. Its weird that both Blogger and WordPress implemented big changes at the same time. Its like they want us to stop blogging! Hope your family feels better soon😁

  5. I am glad to hear your husband escaped catching the cold, but I am sorry all the rest of you were sick. Hope you are feeling much better. Those are beautiful pictures. I am ok with the new blogger, but I have a ton of html templates I use for my posts. I paste the markup in and then add my text and pictures. There were a few things with the tags I was frustrated with, but it has since been changed.

I’m the same I use the html depending on the post, it makes life a lot easier. I had problems with the tags too but it seems to have resolved itself for now!

  7. I'm reading one of Chris Beckett's books at the moment... I've been meaning to try his work forever. Hope you enjoy! And hope you recover from that cold soon, too; I hate the muzzy feeling they always give me.

  10. I'm sorry you and your daughters are sick, but I'm very glad your husband is staying well.

The new Blogger adventure is annoying to me, too. The new WordPress is equally annoying. Why do people always have to change things when they are working just fine?

I'm going to look for When the Lights Go Out and Leave the World Behind.

I hope you feel better soon.

I’d love to know why they’ve changed both of them, did they actually ask bloggers?

  11. Hi Heather! I'm getting scared here.... Am I the only one who do not experience problems with blogger at the moment? It might just be my fabulous template that you got with you-know-who's help...! Then again, I haven't blogged all that much lately!

Sorry to hear about the cold your girls brought in. Please take care of yourself!! If you were in South Africa, I would have said you must have some Rooibos tea.

May your week by wonderful and your hair fabulous. You can read all about it on my post...The Sunday Post #11

    1. I think they are rolling out the new blogger but apart from my preview problem I’m coping with it.

What does Rooibos taste like? I’ve never tried it but I did by some green tea with raspberry and strawberry in it which promised to revive me!

I did read about the shampoo problems in your part of the world!

      Have a fab week!

  13. Sorry to hear about you all being sick, but that's fortunate your husband didn't get sick at least. Those pictures of the river look awesome! It's always tricky when a system switches things up and you have to re-learn the whole program. Hopefully it goes smoother now that you figured out the pop up blocker was causing the problems. Our cases are on the rise as well sadly, but not sure if we got more restrictions. I just try and stay home as much as possible. I hope you're staying safe and have a great week.

I’m sure once I fully use the new blogger it’ll become much easier but it’s the usual just getting used to something new.

We’ve been restricted as to how many we can meet, it was higher but they dropped it on Sunday night.

  21. Healing thoughts to your kids. I'm old, though I try to deny it, so I don't take too well to new things, such as the new Blogger. I have sorted out most of the problems I had at first but I can't figure out how to post my book cover links from Indiebound.org, a site that promotes independent bookstores, at least in the US. I guess the new Blogger is supposed to be more friendly to mobile formats. I can't imagine trying to post from my ipad or phone. Have a better week!

    1. Thanks Judy! I’m not sure about the links, I did manage to put a link in one day but I’m sure it was not where I thought it would be, which is not very helpful! I’m using an iPad to blog and to be honest I don’t think it’s any friendlier!

  23. Sorry to hear most of your house isn't feeling well! That's kind of funny about your husband though. My mom has like no immune system either (kidney disease then transplant) and yet it's my sister who usually gets ever.single.thing. My brother also has MS though!

    I'm following you on Bloglovin now! I don't know why I wasn't before...sheesh.

    1. That is so strange, Kristina in the comments above said exactly the same thing, there must be something in the drugs they take? Very odd! Though in some ways its good too, I wouldnt want any of them to get anything!

MS was something we hadn’t much knowledge about and then we he got diagnosed there was actually quite a few people in the same area who had it.

      Thanks for the follow!

  24. I’m glad your husband is still well, we had a similar issue a few weeks ago, in our house of 6, three of us got sick, three of us didn’t, not sure how that worked but I was grateful.

  26. Looks like you have some good books lined up and fun reading ahead!

I'm so glad to hear someone else speak up about how glitchy the "new and improved" Blogger is! I'm having problems with placing images where I want them and with inserting a small block of html into a post, Plus, it's just not easy to use - things you could do with one click before now take 2-3 clicks to get to the right page. It's been frustrating, and I keep going back to Legacy Blogger, too! In fact, I sent them a long message complaining about all the glitches in the new system - hoping they will fix them! It's a good sign that they backed off and switching everyone over by August - they must recognize they have some problems!

Well, anyway, thanks for the chance to rant! Nice to "meet" you and visit your blog -

    1. Hi Sue, thanks for stopping by!

I’m trying to keep mine on legacy for as long as I can but I have a little play occasionally with the new version. It’s bonkers that blogger and Wordpress have chosen to majorly tinker with their platforms at the same time.

Hopefully all problems will quickly iron themselves out!
