Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. |
This weeks topic is - Book Quotes
Some of these are from books and some are from bookish peeps!

“All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.”
J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

“What doesn't kill us makes us funnier.”

It is indeed, its my favourite quote of all!
DeleteI've always loved that C.S. Lewis quote - it's so true and gives me such a cozy feeling!
ReplyDeleteIt is a lovely quote though I’d change the tea to coffee!
DeleteProps to Agatha Christie! Love these quotes you chose! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThere is definitely a lot of truth in that we can laugh at some things after they happen. Love Keyes quote!
ReplyDeleteThanks Samantha!

Stephen Fry has the best quotes, it was difficult to pick just one!
DeleteYea for Agatha Christie! Laughed out loud! Great selection and most of them I have somewhere on a little paper or in one of my quote books.
ReplyDeleteLoved Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy and as I'm turning 42 this year, I think I'll throw a galaxy party to celebrate the meaning of life!
Agree with Stephen Fry as well. My kindle is always with me, but I still read way more printed books.
My TTT is an old post I just quickly revamped. Data is tight and still no Wifi!
10 Favorite quotes from books
I am turning 42 as well and I’ve totally forgotten the significance of that number!!
DeleteI’m trying to get in to the habit of taking a book or kindle with me, our car is electric so to charge can take up to an hour and it’s handy to have something to read!
The Terry Pratchett quote makes me laugh! I'm always confused when I walk into someone's home and don't see a single book or I see a bookshelf that's only partially full ... what's THAT about??
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!
I know I’m the same, I find it very alien, where are they hidden! Saying that I know a couple of book lovers who have disposed of their physics books and just use their kindles.
DeleteHa ha I definitely feel Terry Pratchett, I can't remember the last time I had enough book space!

Me too, I’m always looking for more!
DeleteGreat choices! I love the Hitchhiker's one. Fun book and a good quote for right about now.
ReplyDeleteThanks Katherine! I though it was fitting!
DeleteI love seeing a quote from Marian Keyes. I've long loved her books but rarely see her mentioned.
ReplyDeleteI don’t read her books as much these days but I still love her wit and wisdom!
DeleteLove the quotes from Tolkien and C.S. Lewis! Here is my Top Ten Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI love the Tolkien quote! And the Pratchett totally made me laugh. :D Great list!
ReplyDeleteTerry definitely had a way with words, bless him!
DeleteI love all of these! Terry Pratchett and Tolkien are always great for a quote. 💜💜💜
ReplyDeleteWould you tell me which template you used for your update? I want to get my music blog active again and this looks like what I would like for that. Also, I would love to hear about transferring to your own .com url. Is it really as seamless as Blogger makes it out to be? I would love to do it, too. Can you buy your domain name anywhere? Thanks. 😁
They both have some excellent quotes!
DeleteGlad I could you help you with blog questions, let me know if you need anything else!
The Fellowship quote probably would have been my first one as well. Those books are filled with terrific one-liners! I completely forgot about King's On Writing. The man really should write more nonfiction- that's such a great one!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed On Writing, it was fascinating to find out more about him and his processes.
DeleteJRRT had a way with words...I always loved the One ring poem...I even did a school project on LOTR when I was about nine!
ReplyDeleteHe does indeed, I read JRRT in the first year of high school so I was a couple of years older, that was me hooked.
DeleteI love that Terry Pratchett quote. What a remarkably funny man.
ReplyDeleteHe was indeed.
DeleteI'm pretty sure I've got most of these tucked away somewhere and I love them! I haven't seen the Stephen Fry quote before but it's absolutely true. Great choices!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
