How are you all?

I’ve not been up to much apart from our continued redecorating of the house which takes a while, especially filling in all the holes from my kids posters!  My Dad tells me my old bedroom is still full of holes from my posters - if you are interested over the years they included New Kids on the Block, Madonna, Salt N Pepa, Nirvana and myriad of Britpop and Grunge bands.

This Sunday is our wedding anniversary, we have been married for 17 years and the internet tells me furniture is the gift of choice, as we are looking at moving this may be a good sign!

I’m not even going to mention the C word as I’m fed up with it and the people who disregard it.

I was trying to find some happy news to share but I struggled, I did find out though my favourite (also occasionally controversial) petrol heads filmed in my local area - Do you watch the Grand Tour or Top Gear UK, you should recognise them - Mssrs Clarkson, May and Hammond!

I’ve also popped below some dark shots from my wanders this week, its been really misty and walking round town I have half expected Jack the Ripper to pop out!  The bridge is called Wade’s Bridge and was built in 1733, it is still used by traffic including great big massive trucks.

  1. We had a startling announcement yesterday about Covid here in the US. I wonder if that will make people take it more seriously.

The new books have been pouring in. My Best Friend's Murder? Last One at the Party? It looks like you shall enjoy some good reading.

What a great shot of the bridge. Spooky. That would be a wonderful book cover. Or place to film an October movie.

I hope you have a good week.

    1. Yes I heard that startling announcement, the conspiracists are having a field day here!

I’m trying to request books for the next six months so I’m trying to resist reading some of them!

  4. Stunning photos. My husband is watching the golf from Scotland at the moment and commenting on the rain.
Some of your books are appealing to me, but they are not yet available at my library yet.

    1. So is my husband, he used to be a green keeper on our local course and is an avid player! We love watching the golf at St Andrews but this weekend it was too wet to go anywhere!

  7. Hi Heather! We are back from holidays and now I just need to get my life in order for the last term of school.

Happy anniversary! Furniture sounds like fun. I am always busy in my house. I love decorating and moving things around. We have a rather big building project coming up, but with end of year approaching so fast now, it will most probably only be next year...!

Love your misty photos. Yes, Jack the Ripper did most probably hide right there.... It's October! Time for all the scary things to start popping out!

I haven't read any of the Sophie Hannah's with the Agatha Christie characters. I am going to have a look at your review now.

Hope you will have a good week! Here's my The Sunday Post #13

    1. I loved your holiday pics, it looked like you manage to have a great time and those elephants are beautiful!

I’d love decorating more if I wasn’t try to declutter at the same time, it’s a nightmare but it’ll be worth it in the long run!

This was the first Sophie Hannah book I read, it was good once it got going.

    1. I love a succulent, I have them all round my house! I’m hoping that the new house if we move will be a great big blank canvas, as long as there is space for bookshelves I’m happy!

  12. Happy anniversary! We celebrate 16 years on Friday.

That does look like Jack the Ripper's hunting ground. I love the atmospheric pictures!

You picked up some appropriately October-ish reads this week. I'll have to investigate further. Enjoy your week!

My walls as a teenager were practically wallpapered with posters of bands and actors. Luckily, my mom made me use straight pins to hang them so at least the holes are tiny. They're probably still there too!

    1. Happy Anniversary to you!

My problem was I would change my posters around frequently so the number of pin holes multiplied quite a bit, karma is coming back to haunt me with my daughters doing the same!

  22. What a wonderful bridge that is! I love taking photos of things like that. I used to have a big Madonna poster on my wall too-it was the cover of the second album. Others on my wall included The Wonder Stuff, the Brat Pack actors, The Beatles, and a lot of film posters over the years!

    1. It’s such a local icon! They built things to last back then! I has Madonna too, I had the Like a Virgin cover, she was my idol for years! Oh my goodness, I’d forgotten about The Wonder Stuff, my high school years where filled with indie rock music.

    1. Congrats to you when it comes, I can’t believe it was 17 years ago!

I’m not starting the Last Policeman yet but I made the mistake of reading the first couple of pages and ending up reading a couple of chapters before I stopped myself, it’s great and I can wait to see how it ends.
