Welcome to my Sunday Post, a weekly meme hosted by Kimberley over at the Caffeinated Book Reviewer . I’m also going to link up with Stacking the Shelves hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality It’s Monday! What are your reading hosted by Book Date Sunday Salon hosted by Readerbuzz |
Hello everyone, have you are all well?
I’ve not been about much the last week and a bit as I’ve been reading more than I’ve been blogging, I don’t know if you ever get that way?
Not much else to report apart from my now rewatching of The Office and a new watch of Fear the Walking Dead. The weather has been miserable too and the greyness has just made my mood plummet.
In other news I’m still Christmas shopping and I’ve spent several days trawling Japanese product stockists in the UK for various bits and bobs like parasols and yukatas for my youngest. I miss buying Barbie.
I’m not mentioning the C word apart from it’s still crappy and we’ve moved to a stricter tier with more restrictions.
Stay safe and have a good week x
Hey, I"m the first to comment ! It happens to me too, more reading than blogging, but it's a good thing because it gives us something to blog about, lol ;) Beautiful book haul, The cunning women looks interesting and The remedy in time is... relatable. Well, the temperatures here are beginning to cool down so I guess I'm going to grab a hot mug, a duvet and read ;) Have a great week-end !
ReplyDeleteIt’s still freezing here, snow on the hills and the heating is fully on!
DeleteI could read more if I could blog less :)
ReplyDeleteWishing you a great reading week, and successful shopping
Shopping nearly done!
DeleteI really miss the days when my kids were young, and those Christmases buying Barbies, Hotwheels, and all those fun toys. Now they want new phones and a PS5🤣 Hope you have a good week!
ReplyDeleteIt is so much more expensive, electronics cost a lot more than Barbie!
DeleteWe're in Tier 4 now so everything is pretty much shut except schools and universities, which seems dumb to me. You can't have others in your home or go to socially distancing shops but it's ok for your kid to mix with piles of other kids who may come from an infected home, and bring the virus back to your family anyway. Great!
ReplyDeleteYep I’ve come to conclusion that COVID is clever to differentiate between all the different rules. It’s getting ridiculous, my kids are going to schools and they are wearing masks but lots of others aren’t.
DeleteI am reading and blogging more than I ever have. I've read a ridiculous 668 books this year (though many of them---many!---are picture books).
ReplyDeleteNo shopping here so far. This will be a bad year for us as we tend to wait until the last minute and we are not going into stores. Something will have to change.
We just started The Office, and we are continuing to watch Seinfeld and All Creatures Great and Small. Comedies are key.
Have a great week!
That is an amazing amount of books! I’ve read a lot but maybe a third of that!
DeleteAll Creatures Great and Small (the original) is very good as are the books. I’ve never watched Seinfeld, everybody says how good it is, maybe one day!
Things are getting worse with the C word here, too, and things are starting to close again and more restrictions are coming, which is upsetting people because of Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeletePeople are getting upset here about Christmas and New Year and not being able to make plans.
DeleteMy niece and her boyfriend are obsessed with The Office. My mother bought them a whole slew of Office items for Christmas. Good luck with the shopping! I know I am clueless this year.
ReplyDeleteI love it, I wish I’d starting watching it years ago!
DeleteI feel you, yes sometimes I just want to read and escape everything. The C word and the news get me down. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kimberly!
DeleteI need to start shopping. :(
ReplyDeleteHow is Night Vale coming?????
I’m really enjoying it, I love the podcast but it’s nice to read the book and take it in slowly.
DeleteHi Heather! Nothing wrong with reading more than blogging. Reading is what fills the blog-tank. so go for it!!
ReplyDeleteThe C word all of a suddenly became really big with us. Weird.... 8 days of school left and then I still have classes on Zoom for 2 weeks and then it's only blogging and reading. Yea!!
Enjoy all your books and take care!
Lots of love!
The Sunday Post #19
I’m just happy to read but I know if I keep reading and not reviewing I’ll end up with a pile to review. But I’m enjoying it so yay!
DeleteThere is talk of us going in to further restrictions, fingers crossed it doesn’t happen.
I love weeks when I am reading more than usual. Last week was one such week. Doesn't happen often though.
ReplyDeleteI used to love listening to Night Vale a long time ago but haven't checked out the books. I'll be looking forward to your thoughts.
I constantly listened to the podcast and then I got distracted so I thought the books would be better and they are just as great!
Delete*hugs* I hear you, I am reading a bit more but between work and just being gubbed energy levels are low. Need to start thinking about Christmas as I have it off this year but just be me and o/h xxx

Christmas is coming round really quickly , it’s scary!
DeleteAfter a week of unseasonably warm sunny weather we are moving into typical dull grey November.
ReplyDeleteWe also move into lockdown this evening for 28 days.
I seem to spend more time on my laptop than reading these days.
November has been a strange month, one minute it’s warm and the next it’s freezing!
DeleteI love rewatching the Office. It makes me happy.
ReplyDeleteIt makes me happy too!
DeleteHa! It's been such a long time since my daughter played with barbie Heather! Wishing you a great week and I hope you've got news (positive news) from that job interview!
ReplyDeleteThanks, started work on Monday there so very happy!
DeleteReading is my solution to everything! Somehow this year will end and so will the virus eventually and we will again dance and sing in the sun!
ReplyDeleteIt is the best medicine! I hope it ends soon!
DeleteHeather, I know how you feel: it has been a quiet, gloomy week here in the UK too, with lockdown and the grey, wet weather. Scouring Japanese stockists sounds rather cool though! And I agree it is best not to mention the C word or 'the-pandemic-that-shall-not-be-named' as I like to call it. 😅 Take care and more happy reading to you in the coming week. 🙂
ReplyDeleteIt was great fun looking through the Japanese import sites, it’s amazing what they sell, it has cheered me up!
DeleteSometimes I read more than I blog and sometimes I blog more than I read. It truly depends on what's happening in my life. A Remedy In Time caught my eye because I like time travel books. Hope you love all your new books!
ReplyDeleteThat’s it, I’ve tried to be more organised but life does get in the way. A remedy in time looks really good, I’ve just bought the book prior to it so I can read them back to back.
DeleteWe just buy stuff when we need/want it so it's hard to do much for Christmas. We make things for each other. I've been putting away things I've bought that my daughter wants or needs for the past month but can get by til December, so she has some things to open.
ReplyDeleteWell, reading is what it is all about. I read some library books for fun since I don't have to review them. Have a lovely week and stay well!
Anne - Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
My husband and I stopped doing presents as we are the same, if we need it and can afford it we buy it.
DeleteYou are right, it’s all about the reading, I’m enjoying it!
I’ve been reading a lot lately too! Sometimes the Internet is stressful, and I’d rather avoid it. Enjoy your new books! Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
It must be the time of year we all just want to cosy down and read!
DeleteThe Office never fails to make me laugh. Yeah, we've just been informed that we're back on stricter lockdown as well. No patio outdoor dining either. Such is life right now. Hope you get a little sunshine to brighten your mood. Happy reading! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Rachel!
DeleteI really want to read City Monster. Hope it's a good one! I've been doing lots of Christmas shopping lately. I'm almost finished with everyone, but it just makes me happy.

City Monster was good and I’ll try and get a review done for it in the new year. I love Christmas, it’ll be different this year but it still makes me happy!
DeleteStay safe and I hope you get your shopping done and that your spirits go back up soon. It's a tough time. So hugs from across the Atlantic. Looks like you've been watching some good shows too.
ReplyDeleteMy blogging has definitely been sporadic. So I hear ya. I hope you have a lovely week.
Thanks Heather, hugs coming back you way!
DeleteI'm not even thinking about Christmas right now! I know that'll put me into a panic in a week or two but for now I'm pretending it's still October. And as for the other C world - if I could figure out how to construct a bubble to live in I think I would! Hope you're having a great week!
ReplyDeleteI can’t believe it’s nearly Christmas, it seems crazy. I’ve stopped shopping for the minute and I’ll have a panic shop nearer the time!
DeleteMy husband is watching us to watch The Office again (again). My kids are getting so much harder to buy for these days.
ReplyDeleteI could quite happily watch in continuously forever!
DeleteHow did I miss this? City Monster looks good. 😊
ReplyDeleteCity Monster was lovely, I’ll do a review in the new year!
