Sophie at Beware of Reader is co hosting the Best Reads of 2020 along with Sophie’s Reading Corner, Read More, Sleep Less, @eliz_white and Under the Covers Book Blog. I fancied giving it a try, why not give it a bash, the posting schedule is at the bottom. #BestReadsof2020
Best ugly cry has to be for me the final few books of the Assassination Classroom manga series. This might seem an strange choice but this was a series that took me through the first few months of lockdown, I devoured it and when I started it I really had no idea how it would end. If you had told me a year ago a story of a maniacal octopus-esque school teacher in Japan who inspires his teachers would have me in floods of tears I would quite believe you!! I cry at the strangest of things, notably the film Aliens!
Tell me who your hero is!
I am not familiar with this series, but I love that it made you shed so many tears. Those are the best books!
ReplyDeleteThey are indeed!
Delete"maniacal octopus-esque" Okay this has me curious!!!!
ReplyDeleteI couldn’t think of any other way to describe him!
DeleteHmm...trying to figure out where I'd cry in Aliens, lol. I've watched that movie about a million times. One of my favorites, but it's been a while since I've seen it. :)
ReplyDeleteIt’s always near the end when Ripley saves the little girl!
DeleteIt has been a long time since a book made me ugly cry. I miss that. Have I become jaded?
ReplyDeleteNo, not at all, it had been a long time for me!
DeleteI will have to go look for that one Heather!
ReplyDeleteIt’s a brilliant series!
DeleteI usually love doing Blogmas in some form but sadly not this this! Too much hassle with Blogger and too much to do around the house combined to ruin the fun! I do hope to throw out a few best of posts this month though.
ReplyDeleteI thought I’d give it a try with my best of’s but a couple of days ago my post thumbnails started buggering up and it snowballed so I’ve reinstalled with the hope it all behaves itself.
DeleteYes to Assassination Classroom. The ending of the series is bittersweet to me.
ReplyDeleteIt definitely is, I didn’t expect to be in tears.
DeleteI haven't read a ton of Manga but I've seen my share of anime and this sounds right up my alley. I wonder if it's a tv series...I've had a few of those ugly cries this year as well and from the strangest things. We all need a good cry right now!
ReplyDeleteI am liking this December theme. I think I may give it a go as well or at least a few days' worth this month! Thanks for sharing.
I believe that it is a tv series plus a live action film, I’ve not seen them but YouTube should bear fruit for that!
