Welcome to my Sunday Post, a weekly meme hosted by Kimberley over at the Caffeinated Book Reviewer . I’m also going to link up with Stacking the Shelves hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality It’s Monday! What are your reading hosted by Book Date Sunday Salon hosted by Readerbuzz |
Hello everyone, hoping you are well!
I started work on Monday and it’s been lovely to have a more structured day. Its also been lovely to be driving again as I haven’t really need the car since lockdown originally started. The only downside this week has been the weather, snow, ice and thundersnow, which was a first!
I was lucky to get some money for my birthday so I treated myself to some new books including the Home Edit books, I loved the series and it’s giving me some great ideas, I’m hoping the books will help my clutter!
Have a lovely safe week x
Hooray for getting back to work! I agree, it's a good feeling to have more routine and structure. On the flipside, as of next week I'm back to working from home again as COVID cases continue to rise. *sigh* Wow, I've never heard of thundersnow... that sounds wild! The Home Edit books look like they would be fun to flip through and get ideas.
ReplyDeleteIt definitely is, it’s nice to be in company again too! Working from home is difficult, it’s hard to concentrate, you’ve got to be strict with yourself! Home Edit is great !
DeleteCongrats on the new job! Even working from home, I try to have some sort of structure to my day, because I could go downhill real fast!
ReplyDeleteI know! You’ve got to concentrate and avoid the internet!
DeleteI guess because I imposed so much structure on myself, I don't miss work. I heard my company will be re-evaluating WFH again at the end of the first quarter of 2021, and I am not sad. I do know people who like the separation of home/work, but I like being home. Glad you enjoying it despite the weather.
ReplyDeleteI’m happy to be doing something! I’m terrible at policing myself so it’s good to have the structure!
DeleteGlad your job is going well. And thundersnow? That doesn't sound like fun. Have a great weekend. :D
ReplyDeleteThe thundersnow was bonkers, never heard anything like it!
DeleteThundersnow! That's always fun. :)
ReplyDeleteHope back to work goes well!
Thanks Greg!
DeleteYay for getting back to work and having some structured week. I loved the Home Edit series and the Netflix show. Thundersnow is pretty rare!
ReplyDeleteHome Edit is brilliant, I’d happily have them do my house!
DeleteThat's great you started work on Monday, too bad about the weather. here it's been cold and grey weather wise. That's neat you got some birthday money to spend on books. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lola!
DeleteWe're in another lockdown so not much going on outside the home. I love decluttering.
ReplyDeleteI just started reading The Tenant.
I love decluttering but the problem is what’s thrown out is usually replaced!
DeleteHappy belated birthday ! Snow, ice and thunderstorm, almost like the atmosphere of The sanatorium, lol. Your current reads and your new books all look good, enjoy :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteHappy Birthday!! Money for books is the best gift!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteIts always good to treat ourselves right? Structure in life is everything. And Happy Birthday!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteUgh, I can't be bothered to organize so let me just get rid of all my stuff. LOL I do like to see how other people organize all their stuff so I will look for the Home Edit Insta!
ReplyDeleteOoooo let us know how Spec Ops Z is as well as the Nightvale books are (I love that podcast!!!).
Happy Birthday!
Nightvale is the best! The home edit insta is brilliant, I love looking!
DeleteI never liked going to work except when I was a singer and when I worked at a bookstore. So it is Sunday, I am here to say hi. Somehow I acquired 8 books this week! And I have 7 on the pile to write up reviews for. Welcome to my structure!
ReplyDelete8 books! I have a habit of acquiring books too! I’d love to work in a bookstore, I’d never get any work done!
DeleteThundersnow! Wow that must have been impressive and scary! Thank you for participating in our Best Reads of 2020 by the way! It means a lot to me!
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome, it’s good fun!
DeleteI'm glad you are enjoying the return to the structure of your work.
ReplyDeleteI had to look up thundersnow. I had never heard of it.
I enjoyed the Home Edit books a lot. One of my favorite takeaways is having rotating Lazy Susan for lots of things, like medical supplies and spices.
I'm always thrilled to get money, especially money on an Amazon gift card.
I’ve acquired a lots of spices over the last week so I’ve been looking for a lazy Susan, I think they’ll make life so much easier. I love how the Home Edit ladies have the best solutions!
DeleteHey Heather, I'm glad you have had a good return to work and that is has felt nice to be back in your car, but sorry to hear about the weather... well maybe not the snow, as I am a bit jealous of that, but I don't know if I fancy the thundersnow: it sounds scary! 😅
ReplyDeleteTake care in the coming week and enjoy those new birthday goodies!😊
The worst part of thundersnow was the waking up with a start, it was crazy loud. I’ve never had it before.
DeleteYes I’m enjoying being behind the wheel again!
Happy birthday 🥳
ReplyDeleteI’m glad the new job is going well, though driving in that weather sounds terrifying! It’s hot here, it’s been 30c+ all week
I’m yet to watch Home Edit on Netflix, seems like I should
Wishing you a great reading week
Wow that’s hot, it’s mostly cold here at the minute, thankfully no more snow!
DeleteIt does sound nice to get back to routine. Thundersnow doesn't sound fun to drive in. The only thing I don't mind about driving back and forth to work is listening to my audio books while doing it. Other than that I'd rather be able to work from home. Oh well, I'm happy I even have a job when others are not so fortunate.
ReplyDeleteThe Tenant looks interesting.
I listen to the local radio on the way to work but on the way home it’s either a podcast or audiobook, it’s the best time to get peace. I know, I feel so lucky to be back at work, there are still thousands out of work.
DeleteI am curious about The Tenant. Enjoy your week and reading
ReplyDeleteThanks Emma!
DeleteI'm glad you're liking it being back to work. I enjoyed the Tenant. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
I’m enjoying The Tenant, I’m curious to see who the culprit is!
DeleteWow! That's quite the stormfront! I'm glad you've been able to get back to work and that structure again. So hard to not have it.
ReplyDeleteI've been wondering about the Mindy Kaling books and you've read most of them, it looks like. I'll have to pick them up. She cracks me up.
I need to watch Home Edit. My friend has been watching it as well. I need to get my pantry reorganized!
I'm loving those books you are currently reading. I need a good thriller right now. I hope you have a great week!
I love Mindy, she is brilliant in most things and her books where really good. Even though she is rich and famous she comes across as relatable too.
DeleteI’m looking to properly Home Editing my house, they have so many good ideas!
Hope the job is going well!
ReplyDeleteI heard about the thunder snow and can I just rant how jealous I am?! I had so many pictures of snow on my social media and whatsapp from people back home posting and I'm sitting here with no snow... The last time it snowed down where I am now was Feb 19!! I could cry. I love snow! I miss snow. *whaaaaaaaaaaaaaa*
The job is going well Nicci! It’s nice to be working and socialising.
DeleteI love snow too but I hate travelling in snow because my road never gets cleared and the main roads are hell but if I don’t have to go anywhere it can snow snow snow! Thundersnow was crazy, never seen/heard anything like it!
Congratulations on the new job. 🎉
ReplyDeleteDid you read the Marie Kondo book? I am wondering if these Home Edit books are better. 🤔
I hope your weather gets better and that you are having a wonderful week. 🌞
Thanks! I’ve tried Marie Kondo but I just find Home Edit happier and easier, though Marie did revolutionise my sock drawer!
DeleteThe week has been good but cold and wet!
Our car goes to the local shops twice a week and that's about it right now!
