Top Ten Tuesday - Hopes or Resolutions for 2021

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

This weeks topic is.... Resolutions or Hopes for 2021...My top 7☺️

I’d like to learn patience, I try and fail.  At the stroke of midnight it was the one thing I said I would like to achieve, so far, so good!

I have a coke habit, a can a day and I want to give it up!  I’ve graduated on to Coke Zero but I can’t kick the habit.

I’ve watched the Home Edit, I’ve bought the books, I’ve bought a lazy Susan and I’m inspired to seriously declutter, it’s going to be hard.

Self doubt, I always doubt myself and worry I’ve done something when I know I haven’t.  I need to realise that I can be right!

I need to plan more, I need to know what is coming up and when!  Both in life and blog.

Walk more, I usually take in just over 10k steps a day, I’d like to fit in more.  My daughter got a Fitbit for Christmas and keeps challenging me so this is making me more competitive and hopefully active.

Less phone, more reality!  A nice digital detox in my future, whether weekly or monthly, I need to switch off more.

  1. I have a Coke problem too (that sounds bad lol). But yes sometimes I drink several a day- I'm hooked!!! :) Walk more too- with the pandemic I don't get out as much, being home all the time.

I hope you have success with all of these!!

  2. Best of luck with your goals! I feel like a digital detox is something I definitely need, too.

    1. I definitely need to but that ones is proving more difficult to
      crack than the coke!

  3. Substitution is a good way to de-Coke, I think. For my husband, giving up Coke was the hardest thing he ever did, he says.

    Good luck with your goals!

    1. It is hard, I’ve been drinking cold herbal tea instead but it’s not quite the same!

  4. Good luck with your goals! Walking more than 10,000 steps a day is so good for one's health. :)

    1. It is, it’s the bad weather outside that’s putting me off going out!

  5. My husband is addicted to Diet Pepsi, so I can relate to that goal! My sister and I do virtual "races" and fitness challenges with each other, and I definitely think the competition helps! We need to declutter, too - there is one catch-all room in our house that is getting out of control!

  6. I'm with you on patience. Out of everything I want to achieve, if I can be more patient, I'll count that year a win. Good luck with your goals!

  7. Hi my friend! I love your list and it's presented so lovely! We want to do more walkabouts this year. I walk enough at school, but get out there a bit more!

I don't drink any sodas. Especially not Coke as my heart is extremely sensitive to caffeine. I'll have a coke zero every now and then, but more then.

Good luck with your resolutions. You can do it! Put on your Nikes and just do it!

    1. Why thank you!

I wish I could give up, there is something about the taste that keeps me hooked. I do love coffee too but I’m not giving that you!

      I will do it!

  8. I drink one diet coke and one cup of coffee a day. Every other drink is water. I cannot give it up. Good luck with that and all your goals.

  12. You have some great goals there. I love how good it feels after decluttering yet, the clutter seems to come back fast. COKE - I rarely drink any soda just water, coffee or tea but, every now and then I might take a sip of my husband's soda in a pinch.

    1. You are right the clutter returns, books seem to be a cause!

I drink them all! But I have upped my herbal tea so my coffee goes down a bit!

  13. Good luck with your goals. My husband gave up Diet Coke several years ago. We both enjoy a tall glass of seltzer with a couple of splashes of POM juice. It's very refreshing!

A digital detox sounds like a good idea right about now. I stopped using Twitter many years ago, but got back into it in the months leading up to the Presidential election. Now I'm hooked and it's really not doing me any good other than fueling my anger.

    1. I’m trying cold herbal and fruit teas, they are nice but not quite the same, I shall persevere!

I’m not a huge Twitter user, I know I’ll never be off it if I get sucked in!

  14. Food habits are so hard to break! I actually hate soda and don't drink it but I LOVE sweet tea and it has just as much sugar, lol. Good luck with your goals, Heather!

  15. I had a big Mountain Dew habit that was giving me heart palpitations (literally). I gave it up cold turkey because I was so scared! Now, I very rarely drink soda and almost never have caffeine. My heart is much happier :) Good luck kicking the habit.

    Happy TTT!

  16. Good luck with all of these. You've set some awesome goals. I know I could work on having less self-doubt in my own life. And decluttering is always something I'm working on...that neverending battle of me vs. my junk. ;D

  17. Goals are good. I might be addicted to goals, now that I think about it!

  21. I love your little circle images for each point! Good luck with all of these. I do want to be healthier this year, read more of the books I already own, and find ways to connect with friends since the pandemic is still happening.

  23. Patience is way overrated Heather! I've lived without it all my life! I do enjoy planning, whether its my reading lists or whatever but I'm not as good at following through with it...
