Hello everyone, hoping you are well.

And just like that it is February!  How the hell did that happen?

Despite an amber weather warning over us this week for a load of snow, we barely got anything apart from sleet which is the most annoying form of precipitation known to man.  Plenty of other places close to us but much higher up where inundated with snow and Facebook was full of pictures of ploughs working there way through massive drifts.

My husband should have received his first COVID vaccine by the time this publishes, he has MS so I’m very happy he is fretting vaccinated.

I also started watching Bridgerton this week, I am really enjoying it, it’s like Pride and Prejudice with a lot of sex, a lot of sex!

Have a lovely safe week x

  2. I've never been in or seen sleet but it does not sound fun. I've barely been in snow, actually😁 And I really do need to start Bridgerton! Have a good week, Heather😁

  3. My mother said the same thing about Bridgerton. Yeah for getting vaccinated! I hope they can iron out those distributions better, take care of the vulnerable. I heard rumors they might use the J&J vaccine (which is less effective) on younger people/lower risk group, so the more potent stuff can be reserved for the ones who need it more. I would be ok with that.

    1. The talk of the J and J vaccine has gone quiet in the UK but our health boards seem to be zooming through with the vaccinations,I’m actually hopeful I’ll get mine before summer arrives.

  4. Wonderful that your husband is getting vaccinated. That is great news.

Your shiny new books look super. It's always a good week when new books arrive in my house.

My poor son in Chicago about threw out his back shoveling snow this week. Ice, I think, is much worse than snow. Stay warm and safe.

  5. Hi Heather! You speak my mind perfectly about Bridgerton!! Jane Austen with sex. Good sex. LOL. Luckily I know how old you are.

I was a sucker this week, we are taking a weekend break and we went to a market that had second-hand books. But I only bought three. So not all that bad.

I'm not going to do a Sunday Post as we will be going to the beach tomorrow morning and then travelling home.

Hope you will have a good week with lots of actually snow!!

    1. Ha! I’m putting off watching the next episode till I know the kids are asleep as I have a feeling there will be a lot of sex in it! They do make a lovely couple!

A weekend break sounds lovely, our roadplan to opening the country back up has been released so hopefully later in the year we can go away too!

  6. I fully agree about sleet being the most annoying. It's not pretty and can cause so much damage! We don't get it here very often but it is definitely not a favorite. The only thing more annoying is hail. So glad your husband got his first shot! I know that has to be such a relief. Have a great week!

    1. It’s so annoying, I’d rather it just rain or snow, sleet makes everything instantly icy and horrible!

  7. We got a TON of snow. Glad you guys escaped that but sleet... yeah. Not good.

    Colony looks amazing.

  8. Sleet is very annoying (and dangerous). It never snows where I live - we only have sleet.

    Happy readings!

  10. I loved Bridgerton - I watched it over Christmas break and it was just what I needed.

We never got any snow either. Everyone is getting snow but I've barely seen a flake. I'm ragey. I love snow... Ah well. I'm now pinning my hopes on the coming week when there's more warnings for the white stuff. :)

  13. I'll probably be watching Bridgerton at some point. It's funny how I hate sex in the books I read but don't bother when it's in the TV I watch! My dad is due to get the vaccine this week fingers crossed.

  18. Wonderful news for your husband. Mine and I got our first shot on Friday. It is a start though I fear we have still a long way to go. Sleet being the most annoying form of precipitation is so true and yet your saying it made me laugh. Have a good week!

  21. Well sleet isn't great but the most annoying for me was 15 minutes of hail in a thunderstorm in August while I was out on the Harley. I had a bunch of bruises from the hail hitting me. I rode over the rumble strip so I wouldn't go down if it was too slick. I'm glad to hear he got his first vaccine and you all are hanging in there.

  29. Yes sleet isn't nice. I loved Bridgerton too, and yes lots of sex. I see an article in our local magazine saying Phoebe Dynevor - the lead actress sat there with the remote to fast forward it when she was watching it with her mother! I see you have Nalini Singh's latest thriller, I might read it, I enjoyed her first one but will see.
