Hello everyone!

It’s been a couple of weeks since I last posted anything, life and work have been getting priority!

I don’t have much to report I’m afraid!  Some of our restrictions have been lifted and tomorrow my husband is hoping to get his hair cut, he will be waiting a while me thinks.  It will nice to get out of the house, the rest of the weekend will hopefully be quiet.  I’d like to watch the new Melissa McCarthy and Octavia Spencer film Thunder Force, it looks silly!

The UK had sad news today with the passing of Prince Philip.  He was an incredible 99 years old.

Hope you are all well, have a lovely safe week x

  1. I've read about Passenger List and it is on my TBR. Have a nice weekend.

  2. I was saddened to read about Prince Phillip, but my goodness, he lived a long life!

In some ways, life feels the way it did back in the day when soap operas were popular. You could miss an entire month and tune in and feel as if you'd just watched the day before. Nothing is different! Groundhogs day over and over and over again. I suppose the only new for me is that I got my second vaccination today. Fingers crossed I'm one of the lucky ones to have no adverse reaction tonight/tomorrow (although, spending an entire day in bed reading sounds like a nice way to spend a Saturday...).

Thunder Force looks like fun! We're still watching Sneaky Pete, which is silly and unbelievable, but we like it.

Have a good weekend and be safe.

    1. He had such a good long life! He was occasionally controversial but he did so much good in his life.

That’s great news about your vaccine, my husband gets his second one this coming weekend and my mum gets hers the following week. Just waiting on mine now but the forty something age group seems to be taking a while to get to.

Exactly like a soap opera! Nothing has changed in any way!

Have a good week too and stay safe.

    1. I am enjoying it, I know you love the series. I’ll be honest and say it took me a wee while to get in to it but I think it was just the language took a bit of getting used to but once I got through that I’m loving it.

  4. It was definitely a sad news to wake up to even if he's lived a long life.

    I hope you'll have a great weekend!

  5. Yay! To getting out of the house. I was also saddened to hear about Prince Phillip. 99! That is quite the age to reach.

Book of Koli is on my list. Hope you are enjoying it!

    1. It’s an amazing age!

I’m enjoying Koli and just about to start the second book.

  6. It's exciting to think about getting a haircut after all this time. It's crazy how excited I am about that.

You've gotten in so many books from publishers. You don't even need to buy any more!

Hope you get a little time away from work to relax and read.

    1. People are queuing up from six am just to get their hair trimmed and they are all being incredibly British about it and waiting their turn!

  7. I shed a tear seeing that Prince Phillip passed. But wow! Almost 100 years old and 73 years married. It's hard to imagine being with someone for 73 years. My father was just watching Thunder Force yesterday. I recognized them, but had no idea what film it was (I am out of the loop on that sort of thing). Fingers crossed the hubs got his haircut, and that you got to watch your film.

    1. I thought my 18 years married was a long time!

He got his haircut and no longer looks like a boy band member from the nineties!

I think I’ll try and watch thunder force tonight!

  8. I just got The Husbands in the mail today. Have a great weekend!

  9. I was saddened to see that about Prince Phillip's passing. He seemed to have such a genuine relationship with his grandchildren especially I know this must be hard for them. Fingers crossed your husband got his haircut! I've decided I'm going to try and go a full year just to see what it looks like. Have a great week!

  10. I was winded at the death of Prince Philip and so terribly sad for the Queen - how do you cope after having someone alongside for 73 years? It is the end of an era and we will not see their like again...

I'm desperate to get a haircut - I look like the Dulux dog and while he looks cute, I merely manage to look a bit deranged.

I hope you are enjoying The Book of Koli - I absolutely loved the series. Take care and have a great week.

    1. I agree, we will never see their likes again. 73 years is an amazing time to spend together. I can’t imagine how she must feel.

My hair has grown far too long but I’m choosing to ignore it and tie it in a bun, I’ll worry about it later!

On to Koli number 2, they are on their way to London!

  11. I was so sorry to hear of Prince Phillip's death. The Queen must be devastated (although I'm sure she will put on a brave and dignified face in public.) My heart goes out to her and the whole Royal Family.

I know what you mean about not getting anything posted; I haven't, either. I keep hoping to find the time and mental energy, and it keeps not happening. I hope things go well with your lifted restrictions, and you're able to enjoy getting out a little. Most of our states have lifted restrictions too soon, given that transmission rates are still high. Scotland seems to have a better handle on the virus than the US does.

    1. They were together for so long, the loss she must feel, but yes she is always dignified she never breaks in public.

I’m trying to blog hop and bank some posts of my own but it’s just not happening.

This Friday we are allowed to travel outside our home regions which will be great, I’m looking forward to going that bit further even if it’s just in the car.

  12. I hope the lifting of restrictions means cases are decreasing there. Prime Phillip’s death signifies the beginning of the end of an era I think. I have a lot of sympathy for the Queen after such a long marriage his loss must be devastating.
    I’m curious about The Husbands

Wishing you a great reading week

    1. Cases do seem to be dropping, a huge amount of our population have been fully vaccinated now which is making a difference.

I know, I feel so sorry for he, it must be like losing a limb.

  13. So sad hear about the Prince. I know I follow the royal goings on pretty often. Its fascinating. Maybe tell us more about what locals think of royalty--it would be fascinating to us americans.

    1. The Queen is very respected as was Philip despite his constant faux pas, he created a huge legacy with his Duke of Edinburgh scheme. He will be missed.

  15. Thunder Force is on my very long list on Netflix, and I was hoping to watch this weekend, but had to move it up to Tuesday morning. Love both the actresses, and looking forward to it. It was sad to hear of Prince Phillip's passing and imagine the queen is devastated. Being married for 73 years is pretty amazing and romantic. Yay to getting out a little this weekend. Hugs, RO

  16. We plan to get our hair cut later in the month once we are fully past our vaccination. I haven't had mine cut since 2018! I'm also making some medical appts I have postponed for quite awhile. I also want to read Book of Koli but can't seem to get to it yet.

  18. Passenger List immediately draws my attention. I am taking a look right now. I was also a bit absent lately, just plain lazy and pretending I'm a cat I guess.

I'm back at school tomorrow and then I'll have even less time!! But we'll still try going on as much as we can.

Have a good week my friend and take care!

  19. Here's to nice, quiet weekends. I have to attend a Zoom baby shower today. It is for a niece of mine whom I dearly love but I purely hate showers. Thanks for the heads up on Thunder Force!

  20. Sorry tohear that! Glad your restrictions are being lifted a bit though, that's always good. Things are bad here again (especially in Michigan ) so they're recommending restrictions but not actually mandating them. It's like a yo yo- it gets better, it gets worse. :)

Ascension - hmm that looks good.

We’re starting getting a bit more cases now- so we’re sortof back on our feets.. although I remain going to work and back home, at first it was indeed heavy on me but now I feel like it’s just « normal » now?? 🤔 I don’t feel the pandemic much.. although ofcourse the masks and everything.

    1. We’ve actually got more restrictions being lifted in the next week, rumour has it we will be near normal be end of June.

I’ve started going back in to work a couple of days a week, it feels strange but it’s nice to see everyone and to get behind the wheel again!
